On Saturday we learned that some of the museums in the area were having a free one-day pass. We were planning on an Indian Lunch Buffet in the downtown, anyway, so we went to check out the UM Art Museum.
On our way over we stopped in the cube-square for Jake to spin the giant cube. Yes, it actually spins around.
The museum was nice with all kinds of different art. I snapped these before I saw the sign that said "No Photos, Please." Oops. At least I made sure the flash was off...
Jake had to work on Sunday, but, in the evening, I was invited out to "The Arb" with some friends. According to the website, Nichols Arboretum "...has extensive but dispersed collections of native and exotic trees and shrubs masterfully crafted into a naturalistic landscape..." In other words, it's really nice!

Also this weekend, I did some successful GF baking.
The brownies came out yummy and moist, even though they fell when I took them out of the oven. We were invited to tea and I brought some (as a true taste test, you see), and no one could tell they were GF! I borrowed the recipe from the Gluten Free Goddess, you can find it here.
And I made some wraps/flat bread, also from GF Goddess's site, though with a few of my own tweaks. I would definitely make these again. The base was delicious and you can easily change up the flavoring by including different savory (or sweet?) ingredients.
Finally, there are even more new pictures posted to the Fauna page! I think the animals all know that winter is coming, so there is a lot of activity.
Tomorrow I've been invited to participate in a real treat in preparation for Rosh HaShana, on Wednesday. More on that later!
Hope you have a nice Monday,
