Foolhardy

In honor of April Fool's Day, Ann Arbor held two events:

Alien Fools
Since April is the best month ever and we missed these events last year, I was really looking forward to it!

On Friday night we wandered Downtown in anticipation of the Luminary Parade. Every year the residents of Ann Arbor create lanterns from wire frames, glue, and tissue paper. This year's theme was "language," but we also saw a lot of luminaries that were just for fun.

While we were waiting for the parade, we ran into the aliens and saw some of these other fun things.

When it got dark the lanterns came out! Parades came from three different places in the city and people gathered where we were waiting.

Here are some of my favorite luminaries.

On Sunday, April 1, was the FestiFools Parade. Like Fool Moon, Ann Arbor residents got crafty! This time they created huge paper mache puppets and paraded them up and down Main Street. There were tons and tons and tons of spectators, so it was a bit hard to see, but I did manage to get some good photos.

I took some video so you can get the complete Fool Moon and FestiFools experience!

To top off a great day, Veronika and I threw a sushi party! We very much enjoyed our friends and yummy food and I have pictures, but this post is already too long. Look for sushi pictures tomorrow!

Go fool around.
