Happy Valentine's Day!

I hope you all had a nice Day O' Love! We enjoyed a quiet night at home together — the best way to celebrate.

The nice thing about working from home is that you have time to prepare fun things, like my decorations above, which become the decorations below:

I had fun setting up a pretty table too.

The paper flowers, because you have to have flowers on Valentine's Day, are ones that I made to celebrate our first anniversary (the paper anniversary). They've held together surprisingly well, even enduring a cross-country trip!

For dinner I made gluten free crepes, from Pamela's Pancake Mix. It took a couple bad ones to get the pan right, but then they came out well. They even held up with lots of stuffing, which is unusual for gluten free anything! Pancakes made from the same mix also came out very good.

For the main course we had turkey, egg, cheese, spinach, and avocado crepes:

And for dessert, Nutella, strawberry, and banana:

Earlier in the day, when I went to do all the shopping, I passed by Lillie Park North. It was so beautiful that I stopped to take some pictures.

Some light snow was still falling at this time, which is why it looks so hazy, but I thought it made everything seem more austere. Most of the lake was frozen too.

There are wonderful things everywhere you look.

Bird's nest.

Leftover rose hip.

Lastly, two things I forgot to mention in my last post about snow.

The local library has a living roof and I think their watering system broke with the deep freeze we had. The roof drains down at the side of the library and all of the water created some impressive icicles!

And, if you've never heard it, this is what snow sounds like when you walk on it — at least, this type of snow. (From my walk at Mary Beth Doyle park.)

Happy Valentine's Day, from my squirrel to yours!
