More About Spring

We've had record-breaking weather for more than a week now. The temperatures have been in the high-70's to mid-80's and it feels more like summer than spring. We've even broken the record for the hottest day in March ever, in Detroit.

The nice weather makes me want to go hiking and, in particular, I was remembering a hike in Pinckney Park that Anna and I took in the fall. So you can bet I was thrilled when, out of the blue, Anna invited me for a hike in Pinckney!

Much of the park is still kind of gray and brown.

But if you look closely, you can definitely see evidence of spring!

Beautiful water plants.
Berries - coming soon!
Green.

Even with the gray, though, Pinckney is still a lovely park and we had a very nice hike.

If you recall from our last excursion to Pinckney, there were way too many snakes for my liking. This time I only saw one, a baby one, but he was still yuck. We did see four turkey vultures up close, though. They were massive and very impressive!

Spring continues to blossom in our neighborhood too. Here are some pictures from my walk today:

Tiny rainbow in the clouds.

About to burst.
And I think these are apple blossoms?? They certainly look like apple blossoms, but I think it might be too early.

I also found two trees with the most gorgeous pink flowers and I realized that I hadn't changed my blog banner to a spring-time one yet. So I did! Click here to check it out if you get this post via email or the feed.

Last, but definitely not least, hubby brought me this beautiful, white flower a couple nights ago. I put it in some water and it still smells so nice!

Hope you can get out to enjoy the spring too!
