We started by Silver Lake where we saw a number of small fish and a beautiful view.
We followed a long circuit around the lake, enjoying the good company and the lovely sights.
The trails were so beautiful and picturesque, I felt like I was in a painting. Anna, who has already experience Michigan winter, said she wished it could always stay like this.
My absolute favorite are the yellow leaves. When the sun shines through them they could be little droplets of gold. I couldn't stop looking at them!
There are a lot of lakes in this park and we crossed rivers and streams a number of times on our hike. At one of the streams we spotted some frogs, and there were fish in the river.

There were neat mushrooms:
More pretty views of the lake:
And neat fallen trees—this one was still growing:
I'm sure you're probably wondering why I called this post "Seven Snakes." I do not like snakes. In fact, I have an irrational, petrifying fear of them. I don't even like to see their picture. Something about how they sliver and don't have feet, I think. In any case, not a fan. And what do you know? I think all of the snakes in the park came out to see us while we were there! We even saw one swim through the water. But as paralyzed as I would become every time another one slithered across our path, I was also kind of fascinated and I knew I needed some pictures for the Fauna page (which has some updates!). I couldn't bring myself to photograph all seven of them, but I did get two, one of each variety that we saw. Since I don't like them, they get to be at the end of the post. Take that, you nasty snakes!
Over and out.
You take such stunning photographs! Well, except for the snakes. Also not a fan.
