Hanukkah Party

On Sunday we hosted a small Hanukkah party at our house.

I made two kinds of latkes: regular potato and zucchini/carrot/yam.

I also redecorated the tree from Sukkot to be more seasonally appropriate. Jake and I had a lot of fun cutting out the snowflakes – he did an amazing job and created some very intricate cutouts!

And what's Hanukkah without gifts? I made these knitting gift bags for my family and filled them with chocolate. Didn't they come out nicely?

At the party, we began by lighting the candles and listening to the Hanukkah tape.

Everyone brought a dish to share and we had a delicious dinner.

We had a fun game of White Elephant with much trading of the humor-gift.

And we played some dreidel. I won!!

Everyone got in on the action:

He was good at making the dreidel land...
It was great to see our friends and we had a lot of fun!

This week I am in California visiting friends and family. More on that when I return to Ann Arbor.

Happy Hanukkah!
